THE SMALLEST STABILIZED CAMERA THAT YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE
The Insta360 go has changed my video blogging ways. Not only are my hands free because the back of the camera is magnetic and can be attached by a nacklace or any metallic surface. It also stabilizes images for you in a way that is unreal. You can be walking or jumping and the footage looks as smooth as ever.
The Insta360 go is very small, about the size of a chapstick that fits in your pocket. It only records about a minute worth of footage at a time! You can click the button multiple times to get multiple strands of one minute footge or you can modify it to 30 seconds. It just really depends on you and what settings you want, 1 minute is your max time at a time.
You do have the option to set the camera at about 5 minutes but this should only be used about once every few hours because the camera can over heat. This setting is mainly used for drone footage. You can get a quick bird eye view of the city by placing the camera on a drone. Remember the camera is magnetic so it should have no problems staying in place. You change the settings to your camera with an app on your phone to 5 mins and bam you can start flying. Once you are done flying, I recommend setting the camera back to a max of 1 minute for the recording time. Caution, the camera gets really hot in your hand and feels like its going to burn out, but luckily everything works great!
The camera has allowed me to be in the moment instead of having to pull out my phone and stare at a screen or do an entire set up with a tripod and camera. It’s just a quick click on the button on the back of the camera for it to start recording and you're done. You can are the most important moments in your life without missing on anything yourself.
The camera does not have a lens and the only indicators it gives you are vibrations. The vibrations tell you that the camera has started and ended recording and so does a blue light. As long as the blue light is flashing then you know the camera is recording. There are 3 vibrations options you can choose from which will either let you record in slow motion, normal video, or just take a photo. You decide however you wish to set this up in your settings.
The microphone on the camera has also proven to do very well. In the tests I would say it does just as well as a iPhone mic, no complaints here. The charging case that comes with the camera reminds me of the AirPods charging case, its small and portable. It allows you to charge your camera on the go so that you can have more battery time. On average the camera should last you about 45 minutes if you are taking sporadic videos. Once the camera has shut down it just takes a few minutes for the camera to charge back up. I do believe that the charging case only holds about one charge, so you may want to bring the charging cord with you to charge in the car just in case!
I personally have been using only this camera and my iPhone camera to shoot all of my videos/content with recently. I like the quality and the easiness of the camera. When I am ready to pull the footage from the Insta360 go all I have to do is put the camera in the charging case and connect the case to my phone through the charging port, from there I open the app and download the footage from there, I will say you will need the latest on your phone in order to download the footage. You can’t use the camera with an iPhone 5 and the iPhone 6 was giving me some problems but so far the iPhone 8 and above seem to be working just fine.
This camera may not be the most professional and its definetly not high grade movie studio quality but its get the job done for me. I like the vlog parts of my day and add moments of my family into my videos so I can look back on the memories. I leave the camera dangling on the necklace that comes with it and through out the day whenever I think something nice or interesting is happening I just click the button. For me that's enough plus the price of the camera is what finalized the deal for me. It’s extremely cheap for the quality and the results, so in my book the camera is a 10/10.
